Hello!
Have any of you been watching/watched Navillera???!!! (sorry for the multiple punctuations lol but can’t hold my absolute love for this piece of beautiful drama work) Would love to hear a long yak / discussion on it if any of you are watching/have watched it!
It’s… special, beautiful, lovely. I’ve never done this with a drama before, but I haven’t watched the last episode yet… I feel like I want to savor it, make it last, find the right moment to say Goodbye and I know it will be lovely.
Separately, in hearing your talk about Doom At Your Service and Seo In Guk:
(yay, love SIG, he made me fall in love with current dramas after having watched Reply 1997 one day on Netflix a couple of years ago. I am a “gyopo” (I assume you guys know what that is lol) and I had seen a few dramas here and there growing up but wasn’t super into them, but now they are definitely a good bulk of my perennial entertainment diet.
Anyway, your talk and shared love for SIG reminded me– have any of you guys watched Shopping King Louie? I don’t think I’ve seen/heard it in your back catalog and was just curious. It’s a really sweet one, kind of like candy, but in a good way. It’s a really special one I would say, kind of like Navillera, in that it’s something special in its own way, not that the shows are similar… but perhaps there is a certain warmth and uniqueness that the two (obviously different) dramas share.
The whole cast in Shopping King Louie is great and there was something so sweet about the Louie (Seo In Guk) and Bokshil’s (Nam Ji Hyun) relationship in the show. They came from vastly different lives and backgrounds but, when they met, they were on equal footing and both so sweet and naive, by different ways but actually the same. Also I remember you guys talked about liking the sister from True Beauty and she is in Louie as well! It’s a sweet, unique little gem of a drama and another great performance by beloved SIG as well. 💛
Love the work you guys do with Dramas Over Flowers! 💛

I haven’t watched Navillera yet, since it premiered right at the start of Ramadan, which tends to both be very busy and also a time when I try to watch less TV lol, but I’ve heard amazing things! Although I’m also kind of afraid it will make me sob inconsolably, so I’m a little hesitant to dip my toe in.
Speaking of SIG, I am also yet to start Doom, though now Eid festivities are done I’m really excited about jumping in! Paroma and I both watched and enjoyed Shopping King Louis, although that was before we started the podcast so we haven’t discussed it on air. The exception is that I mentioned it having the same writer as Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, which was one of the reasons I was excited for that drama. (Alas.)
And yes, we all know what gyopo means. 😉
Thank you for your kind words, and this lovely long comment! 💛

I’m a little late listening but I really enjoyed it so much , I really love the segways into other drama commentary because I personally can’t tell my sister about my current watch/ obsession without referencing pretty much the whole catalog of works of any given actor in a show which I enjoy but just confuses her since she doesn’t watch dramas. Lol looking forward to your yaks encompassing these shows I’m current with Doom at 12 ep, and still enjoying it though some fans seem disappointed, I’m still so delighted with the main lead pair that it glosses over any flaws for me. Have either of you had time to watch?
