Anisa and Paroma chat about Start-Up, the first twelve episodes of Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol (i.e. before that disastrous, bafflingly bad ending), and 18 Again. We also gush over Avatar: The Last Airbender, which Anisa finally watched—and loved, obviously—only fifteen years late.
Time Stamps:
03:33 Start-Up
10:02 Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol
28:19 18 Again
32:58 Avatar: The Last Airbender

I finally get to hear your thoughts on the Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol ending! 😂

Oh, I misread that completely, the Yak is from before the last four episodes – well, it should be full of delicious dramatic irony then hahahah!

I have to admit, it was a bit painful editing us gushing about how much we loved it after watching the ending. I do stand by my love for the first 12 episodes though. It’s as if they fired the writer and had someone else do the last quarter, it’s so jarringly off from the rest of the drama.

The first twelve episodes were something special, but I won’t be able to go back to them. The assassination of Jun’s character recoloured all of his past acts to me, so I won’t be able to enjoy the show like Past Me did.

Yeah, I agree. It’s such a shame.

Thank you so much for recommending 18 Again! It was a really good (sentimental in a good way) drama and it seems even better as it ages in my memory. I had watched Record of Youth recently before and it may have been the worst drama I’ve ever watched in terms of it feeling like a waste of my time and the drama production itself. 18 Again definitely was a supreme antidote. 🙂

So glad you watched 18 Again after RoY and not the other way around! It really was such a joyful show full of so much heart. ❤︎
